ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/ASSISTANT CLERK
Starting Salary – £17,290.00
Pro-rata – 3 hours per week (to be reviewed in September 2022)
The Blaengwrach Community Council are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to support the Clerk to the Council. You must be flexible and able to adapt to ever changing demands. The job is varied with no two days the same.
The successful applicant will have good communication, administrative and literacy skills as well as a good IT skill set, as they will be interacting with the public, Councillors and various organisations in both verbal and written formats. The Administrative Assistant/Assistant Clerk needs to be organised, flexible and able to show initiative.
The main duties include supporting the day-to-day activities of the Community Council. Specific areas of responsibility will include managing the communications of the Council, including the Council Website, Facebook Page etc. The successful candidate will need to attend Council meetings and help to provide general administrative support to the Council.
Ideally you should possess good communications skills, some project management skills and financial experience and to be able to take and prepare minutes of meetings.
Training will be provided to the successful candidate, with opportunities for continuing their professional development.
The position will be “office based” but if working from home is preferable, please state your preference in the application. However, some visits to the “office” will be required i.e. meetings (with the Council, Councillors and the Clerk, when necessary).
THERE MAY BE THE OPPORTUNITY, IN SEPTEMBER 2022, FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE TO APPLY FOR THE ROLE OF CLERK TO THE COUNCIL IF THEY HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILL BASE. ( please state in your application if you will wish to apply for the Clerk`s role in the future).
