Muga Damage Report

Why has the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) remained inaccessible since the beginning of April?

Cwmgwrach Welfare Hall Park

Regrettably, the Council was compelled to close the MUGA on April 8th due to damage. This damage resulted from electric scooters being ridden on the artificial turf.  CCTV footage revealed that the damage was intentionally inflicted by individuals who had been previously warned about the detrimental effects of their actions.

Access was prohibited due to significant health and safety issues, especially the risk of trips and falls, until necessary repairs could be completed. The Council regrets the disruption caused by this closure, as they acknowledge its importance and popularity within the community.

The Council is pleased to announce the completion of repairs, which unfortunately cost £1140.00. Additional expenses will be incurred for new signage, deemed necessary by the Council to prevent future misuse of the area.  Any further damage will immediately be reported to the Police.
